Abstract
In the present work, a binary blend was prepared using Chitosan/PEG of ratio (1:1). The prepared binary blend was characterized using FTIR, XRD, TGA, DSC and SEM. From the FTIR results, the shift in peaks to higher wavenumber confirms the formation of blend. XRD studies were conducted to find out the amorphous or crystalline nature of the binary blend. The TGA, DSC results show the thermal stability and compatibility of the blend and was suitable for heavy metal chromium removal. The morphology of the prepared blend was analysed using SEM. Adsorption data of chromium metal ion was well fitted to Langmuir isotherm model.
