Abstract

Natural products have received increased attention over the past thirty years. The plant Indigofera linnaei Ali is a reputed indigenous medicine. The juice of the plant is used as a diuretic and for burns and epilepsy. It has long been used by tribes and native medical practitioners to treat rheumatism, arthritis, inflammation, and tumour and liver diseases. Based on the ethnomedical claims, we investigated the antitumor properties of the successive solvent extracts of Indigofera linnaei against Dalton’s lymphoma ascites (DLA) tumour models. We have also made an attempt to investigate its antibacterial properties and in vitro cytotoxicity.
