Abstract

Impetigo is a highly contagious bacterial skin infection most common among pre-school children. It is primarily caused by Staphylococcus aureus and sometimes by Streptococcus pyogenes. Both bullous and nonbullous are primarily caused by Staphylococcus aureus, with Streptococcus also commonly being involved in the non-bullous form. The plants Ocimumgratissimum(Lamiaceae) and Acalyphaindica (Euphorbiaceae)were screened for its Macroscopical, microscopical, Physiochemical parameters, (Florescence analysis (Day light, shot and long UV), and Total microbial load showed that they all within limit. Made the Ethanolic extracts of both the plant leaves by continuous hot extraction by soxhlet apparatus, the percentage value of both the extracts was 19.618%w/w and 18.72%w/w respectively. The qualitative chemical analysis is made by based upon the color reaction; further confirmed by thin layer chromatography also performed depending upon the mobile phase and detecting agents were used. The two plants of Ocimumgratissimum and Acalyphaindica, theethanolic extracts effective against list out the Microorganisms like S. aureus and S. pyogenes, ethanolic extract of Acalyphaindicaand Ocimumgratissimumshowed highest activity at minimum concentration.
