Compare Metacognitive Beliefs about Worry and Social Problem Solving Ability among Addicted Women Drug are giving up Drugs and Healthy Women in Southern Tehran

Abstract

his study aimed to compare metacognitive beliefs, concerns and social problem-solving ability among addicted women who are giving up drugs and healthy women in downtown Tehran To this end, in a retrospective study, forty female drug rehab centers in south of Tehran were selected by convenience sampling Forty healthy women were matched with the group as a criterion Participants in the study filled out voluntary questionnaire on meta- cognitive beliefs, concerns and problem-solving ability, and social Perceptions The data analyses included Pearson correlation, t-test, analysis of variance and covariance multivariate and univariate analyses Results showed that metacognitive beliefs and concerns of addicted women were related to problem-solving ability Also, the average reliability of cognitive and metacognitive beliefs about the need to control and positive beliefs addicted women was significantly higher than in normal subjects However, this difference was not seen in the dimensions of prob- lem-solving ability Overall, our results show metacognitive beliefs and their relationship to the development of substance abuse in women.
