Abstract
Present study has been performed in the purpose of determining predictive role of emotion intelligence, tolerant and demographic characteristics on career exhaustion of nurses in Namazi Hospital of Shiraz. Descriptive research method is in kind of correlation. statistical society of this research include all nurses of Namazi Hospital (2000persons), after determining sample volume size using random categorized sampling, 322 persons were se- lected as sample. Research tools include three Bar-En emotion intelligence questionnaire (1980), tolerant ques- tionnaire (2003) and career exhaustion questionnaire. Data analysis using Pearson correlation coefficient and also linear and step by step regression showed that, there is a meaningful relationship between emotion intelligence, tolerant and demographic with career exhaustion. There is also a meaningful relationship between emotion intel- ligence with tolerant and also demographic characteristic. Also a meaningful relationship was made between tol- erant and demographic characteristic. it should be noted that variables including emotion intelligence, tolerant aspects and demographic characteristics were capable of predicting career exhaustion, of which, among all demo- graphic characteristics, index of family members is the strongest predictive, with a percentage of 41.8, in compari- son with other demographic characteristics indices.
