Abstract
This study evaluated the effects of different levels of pulp substitute dried tomatoes instead of hay was non forage as a source of fiber. In this experiment, 32 male lambs with an average weight of 35.5 ± 1.4 kg in a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 8 replicates were used for 84 days. In this experiment, the diet has a 8.2 mega calories per kilogram of energy and crude protein 15%, according to NRC (1985) that the food items hay, wheat straw, dried tomato pulp, soybean meal, corn, barley supplements of vitamins and minerals and salt and set supply. Treatments consisted of: 1) a control diet without residue dried tomatoes 2) diet containing 10% dried tomato pomace 3) diet containing 15% dried tomato pomace and 4) diet containing 20% dried tomato pomace. The test results showed that the use of different levels of dried tomato pomace no significant effect on dry matter intake of fattening lambs were reared in different periods. But compared to the average independent control treatment versus treatment has dried tomato pomace, indicating significant differences between and among the various experimental plots treated with a level of 15% pulp dried tomatoes was significantly higher than other treatments (*p ≤ 0.05).
