ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction
among the staff of insurance companies in Ahwaz. The research population consisted of all the staff of insurance
companies in Ahwaz (15 companies and about 150 employees), 2014. The sample consisted of 108 employees of
insurance companies in Ahwaz. Simple random sampling was used to select them. The measuring devices included
Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) and Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS). The study was
descriptive and correlational. Pearson correlation coefficient showed that there was a correlation between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction of the staff of insurance companies. The level of significance in this research
was α=0.001.
