Abstract

ABSTRACT
In addition to reproductive problems such as infertility, women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) suffer
from depression, low self-esteem, anxiety and metabolic disorders such as obesity, impaired glucose tolerance,
type ll diabetes, dyslipidemia and hypertension. The present Causal-Comparative study aimed to compare anxiety,
depression and stress in women with and without PCOS. To this end, 60 women (30 with PCOS and 30 without
PCOS) were selected based on convenience sampling method. The data were collected through the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Cohen’s Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and analyzed using
the SPSS software and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The results indicated significant differences in
depression and anxiety between women with PCOS and women without PCOS. However, no difference was observed in stress between the two groups of women
