Abstract

Prescribing errors are a major cause of iatrogenic injury in patients. Paediatric age group is more vulnerable to adverse drug events due to prescribing errors. Less information is available regarding prescribing errors and adverse effects in this age group. Most of these errors and the morbidity and mortality associated with them are preventable. The article aims to bring to light issues pertaining to epidemiology and type of common prescription errors in pediatric prescriptions and the steps to be taken to prevent these errors.
