Banana is a rich source of carbohydrate and is rich in vitamins particularly vitamin B, it is also a good source of potassium, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. In the present study parts of the banana fruit such as peels serve as a potential source of bioactive substances which can be used to treat oxidation, prevent ageing due to free radical scavenging activity where the percentage of inhibition was 99.19 and 99.52 for standard and for sample it was in the range of 54-77 and also a rich source of various phytochemical constituents
