Abstract

This research aims to study Emotional intelligence and metacognitive education efficacy on children suffer from oppositional denial disorder (ODD) behavior signs and symbols of Isfahan city elementary school student at 2013- 14 educational year. Sample includes all Isfahan city elementary school male and female students suffer from op- positional denial disorder (ODD). This is pre-test, post-test and follow up experimental and control groups. Thus, 90 students suffer from oppositional denial disorder (ODD) assigned by cluster random sampling method and re- placed in 3 experimental and control groups selectively. (30 students in metacognitive knowledge experimental group, 30 students in emotional intelligence experimental group and 30 students in control group). Experimental groups received metacognitive knowledge educational intervention and emotional intelligence in two sessions per week in 3 month separately, while, witness group received no intervention. It was used tools like 6 to 14 years old child and adolescent mental health assessment questionnaire. Research data analyzed using covariance analysis. Covariance analysis results showed that metacognitive knowledge learning and emotional intelligence decreased experimental group average scores than witness group in post-test and follow up test significantly. (p<0.001). Due to this research finding, its might helpful to use these two treatment method as useful intermediation methods to treat students suffer from metacognitive disorder.
