Abstract
The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral group therapy on reducing aggression of adolescent girls. The method employed in the research was a pretest-posttest experimental one with a control group. Therefore, using the multistage sampling method and considering inclu- sion criteria, 30 high school students in Shahreza City were selected and then they were randomly divided in to control and experiment groups. To collect data, the Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire (AQ) was used (Mo- hammadi, 2007). The research data were analyzed using MANCOVA. The findings of the research indicated that cognitive-behavioral group therapy has significant effects on reducing physical aggression, verbal aggression, hos- tility and general aggression (p≤0.05). According to these findings, it can be concluded that the application of cog- nitive-behavioral group therapy enjoys practical implications for reducing aggression signs in adolescents.
